Changing one interior door: a few hours.

Changing the doors is one of the improvements that transforms a home most with the least building work: it completely renews the look of hallways and rooms, improves sound insulation between rooms and, on the entrance door, increases security. We fit new doors in flats and houses across the Costa Blanca with precise measuring and a joiner’s finish.

Indoors we fit doors lacquered in white or colour, in wood or wood-effect finishes, hinged or sliding — surface-mounted or pocket doors within a drywall partition — to make the most of the space. On entrances we install security and armoured doors with high-security locks, and we also renew wardrobe doors and fronts to match.

We remove the old door, adjust or replace the frame and architraves, level and set the hinges for a smooth close, and fit handles and locks. We leave the opening clean and finished, ready to use. We work to a fixed price from the start and coordinate with painting or drywall when the change is part of a renovation.

Everything we do

Every job we take on within this service, with the detail of how we carry it out. The price is always fixed after the survey.

Measuring and choosing

Measuring every opening

What we do
Checking the width, height, wall thickness and square of each opening before anything is ordered.
How we do it
We measure each opening separately even when they look identical: in older buildings they rarely are, and a centimetre decides between a stock door and a made-to-measure one.

New frame or just the leaf?

What we do
Assessing whether the existing frame can be kept or is better renewed.
How we do it
We check the frame for plumb, solidity and thickness. If it is sound and square, changing only the leaf and ironmongery brings the cost down; if it is out of square, no door will ever close properly on it.

Handing and swing direction

What we do
We agree which way each door opens and which side the handle falls on.
How we do it
We walk the actual route through each room with you before the order goes in. Changing the hand on the order costs nothing; changing it afterwards does. Small bathrooms are where it matters most.

Model, finish and tone

What we do
Choosing between lacquer, natural timber or wood-effect, plain or grooved.
How we do it
We show physical samples rather than a catalogue: white lacquer shifts enormously under the Mediterranean light coming off the terrace. For rental property we suggest finishes that take wear and touch up easily.

Sound insulation between rooms

What we do
Choosing the leaf according to the noise you want to stop.
How we do it
A standard hollow leaf will not block a conversation. If the bedroom backs onto the hallway or a holiday let, we fit a solid or board-cored leaf with perimeter seals in the frame.

Passage and wardrobe doors

All the doors in a flat

What we do
Complete replacement of the passage doors in a single visit.
How we do it
We strip out and refit room by room so the flat is never wide open all at once. We leave one old leaf hung until the end in case an opening turns out to be off-size.

White lacquered doors

What we do
The most common choice for completely renewing the look of hallways and bedrooms.
How we do it
We order leaf, frame and architrave from the same batch so there is no shade difference between parts. Lacquer can be touched up in place in the same tone when a knock appears years later.

Timber and wood-effect doors

What we do
Leaves in natural timber or wood-effect finishes, with matching frame and architraves.
How we do it
On the coast timber moves with the humidity: we seal the top and bottom edges, which is exactly where the moisture gets in and where the leaf swells and starts to catch.

Wardrobe doors and fronts

What we do
Renewing an existing wardrobe’s doors to match the new passage doors.
How we do it
If the carcass is sound we keep it and build only the front, sliding or hinged, in the same finish and with the same handles as the new doors elsewhere in the flat.

Glazed doors and side panels

What we do
Leaves with glass to bring daylight into internal hallways with no window.
How we do it
We fit toughened or laminated glass depending on the room — in kitchens and bathrooms always the type that breaks without leaving an edge. It is the standard fix for long flats with a dark corridor.

Taking the old doors away

What we do
What happens to the leaves and frames being replaced.
How we do it
They go to a licensed disposal point and we leave the opening clean and made good. If the comunidad de propietarios restricts working hours or lift use, we agree it beforehand so nothing sits on the landing.

Sliding doors and making space work

Surface-mounted slider

What we do
A door that runs across the face of the wall, with no building work.
How we do it
We hang a top track on rollers rated for the weight of the leaf. It is the answer when the wall cannot take a pocket: no mess, but the run of wall it slides over is lost for hanging anything, and we say so upfront.

Pocket door in drywall

What we do
A door that disappears into the partition and frees up the full swing.
How we do it
We fit the cassette before the plasterboard is closed and mark where the studs land. Without that, the day you hang a shelf the screw goes straight through the hidden leaf.

Sliders in a masonry wall

What we do
Assessing the options when the partition is brick rather than drywall.
How we do it
We check first whether the wall is loadbearing. If it cannot take a pocket we propose a surface slider or rethinking the hinged door — and we tell you before quoting, never halfway through the job.

Small bathroom doors

What we do
The answer where a hinged leaf fouls the toilet or the basin.
How we do it
A pocket door recovers the square metre the door swing was eating. We seal the run at floor level so bathroom moisture cannot get inside the cassette.

Hidden and flush doors

What we do
Fronts that fold the door into the wall or the joinery until it disappears.
How we do it
We fit a flush frame with no architrave and concealed hinges, and the leaf is painted with the wall. It needs a genuinely plumb wall, so we check that before we offer it.

Entrance doors, security and ironmongery

Security (blindada) door

What we do
Steel plate reinforcement over a timber core, with a high-security lock.
How we do it
It is the usual step up from the original door of an older flat: better resistance and it cuts the noise from the landing. It goes onto the existing frame where that is sound, which keeps the mess right down.

Armoured (acorazada) door

What we do
A full steel frame, with leaf and frame forming a single assembly.
How we do it
It replaces both frame and leaf, so the old frame comes out and the new one is built into the opening. Another level of security and insulation, but you have to allow for making the opening good.

Lock, cylinder and anchor points

What we do
Multipoint locking, anti-bump cylinder and a protective escutcheon.
How we do it
The cylinder is the weak link on almost any door: it can be upgraded to anti-bump and anti-pick without replacing the door at all. We hand over the keys with their ownership card.

Draught seals on the entrance

What we do
Draughts, landing noise and cooking smells coming in around the front door.
How we do it
We fit perimeter seals and an automatic drop-down threshold seal. In blocks with holiday lets it is the single most noticeable improvement, and far better value than a new door.

Hinge and closing adjustment

What we do
Final setting of each door so it closes smoothly, with no gaps and no catching.
How we do it
We adjust on all three axes with the door hung and check the close with the flat shut up. If the leaf moves over the first few weeks, we come back and reset it.

Community rules on the front door

What we do
What you are actually allowed to change on the face that looks onto the landing.
How we do it
The outer face is usually governed by the comunidad de propietarios statutes: colour, spyhole and nameplate. We check before ordering so nobody makes you reverse it later.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to change the doors in a flat in Alicante?

It depends on the number of doors, the model and finish (lacquered, wood, sliding), whether the frame is changed too and the opening type. That is why we fix the price after measuring. Ask for a no-obligation quote and we itemise it per unit before starting.

Do I need to change the frame or just the leaf?

It depends on the state of the existing frame. If it is firm and level, sometimes changing just the leaf and ironmongery is enough, which reduces the cost. If it is damaged or out of square, it pays to renew frame and architraves for a correct close. After measuring we tell you what each opening needs.

Do you install pocket sliding doors?

Yes. We fit surface-mounted sliders and also pocket doors inside a drywall partition, ideal for narrow hallways or bathrooms where a hinged door takes up space. If the wall is masonry, we assess the most suitable solution before quoting.

What security do entrance doors offer?

We install security and armoured doors with high-security locks and anchor points, improving both protection against intrusion and acoustic and thermal insulation compared with an old door. We explain the differences so you can choose according to your needs and budget.

Are the doors guaranteed?

Yes. The doors we fit carry a 2-year guarantee on labour covering the fitting and ironmongery adjustment, plus the manufacturer guarantee on the door and lock. You receive it in writing on completion.
