Fault tracing and repair: usually on the same visit.

When the power trips for no reason, a socket stops working, or the board is old with no RCDs, it pays to check the installation before the problem grows. We provide electrical services for homes and communities across the Costa Blanca, with technicians who diagnose the fault, explain it and resolve it in line with current Spanish regulations (REBT).

We trace and repair faults, replace obsolete boards with a new consumer unit with a main switch and RCDs, run separate circuits for kitchen, bathrooms or air conditioning, and add sockets, lighting points and LED fittings where needed. We also check the earthing and protection so the property is left safe.

When the installation is spent, we renew all of it. Many 1970s, 80s and 90s flats still have their original wiring: too small a cross-section for today’s appliances, no earthing, and a fuse board that does not meet the REBT. We replace all the cable, fit a new consumer unit with main switch and RCDs, and run a dedicated circuit per room.

Where the installation requires it, we issue the electrical certificate (boletín/CIE) the supply company asks for to connect the power or increase capacity, and hand you the documentation ready to file. We work to a fixed price, leave the job clean and test every circuit before treating the work as finished.

Everything we do

Every job we take on within this service, with the detail of how we carry it out. The price is always fixed after the survey.

Faults and diagnosis

RCD tripping for no reason

What we do
Tracing the point causing the leakage that keeps cutting the power to the property.
How we do it
We isolate circuit by circuit with a clamp meter and an insulation tester until we find the leakage, rather than swapping the RCD blindly. It is usually damp, a faulty appliance or a degraded cable run.

Dead socket or light point

What we do
Repair of sockets, switches and lighting points that have stopped working.
How we do it
We check the circuit’s junction box, which is nearly always where the loose or burnt connection is. We remake the joint with spring terminals and replace the fitting if it is damaged.

Burning smell or hot fitting

What we do
Urgent attention to hot sockets, sparking or scorch marks.
How we do it
We treat this as a priority because of the fire risk. We isolate the circuit, replace the affected run and fitting, and check the cable size is right for the load actually being drawn.

Installation inspection

What we do
A written report on the state of the board, wiring, earthing and protection.
How we do it
We measure insulation, continuity and earth resistance and give you in writing what meets the REBT and what does not, with the urgent items separated from the merely advisable.

Voltage dips and flicker

What we do
Lights that flicker or appliances that reset when something else starts up.
How we do it
We establish whether the cause is your installation or the supply company’s service cable. If it is internal we increase the cable size or rebalance loads; if it is the network, we document it so you can raise it with them.

Board and protection

Consumer unit replacement

What we do
Old board or fuse box replaced with one built to the current REBT.
How we do it
We fit the main switch, RCDs and one breaker per circuit, with the separation the regulations require. We label every way so it is obvious what each one protects.

Earthing

What we do
New or improved earthing for the property.
How we do it
We drive an earth rod and run the earth to every fitting, then measure the resistance on completion. In dry ground we add a second rod until the reading meets the required value.

High-immunity RCD

What we do
A fix for repeated tripping in homes with a lot of electronics.
How we do it
When the tripping is not a fault but the sum of the natural leakage from electronics and LEDs, we fit a high-immunity RCD or split the loads across two RCDs.

Surge protection

What we do
Protecting appliances and electronics from voltage spikes and storms.
How we do it
We install transient and permanent surge protection in the board — particularly worthwhile in properties left empty for long stretches.

Power increase

What we do
Bringing the installation up to spec so you can contract more power.
How we do it
We check the board, main switch and cable size will take the new rating, upgrade whatever falls short, and issue the certificate the supply company asks for to change the contract.

Circuits, sockets and lighting

New kitchen circuits

What we do
Dedicated lines for the oven, hob, dishwasher and washing machine.
How we do it
We run each line from the board with its own breaker and the cable size the appliance load demands, instead of hanging everything off the general socket circuit.

Circuit for air conditioning

What we do
A dedicated line and outlet for air conditioning or an air-source heat pump.
How we do it
We size the line to the unit’s rating and protect it independently, so a fault on the climate system does not take the power out across the rest of the property.

Extra sockets and points

What we do
More outlets in the living room, bedrooms or a home-working area.
How we do it
We use existing false ceilings and access points to run cable with minimal chasing. Where that is not possible we chase, make good and leave the wall ready to paint.

LED lighting and downlights

What we do
Lighting points, recessed downlights, LED strip and dimming.
How we do it
We work out the points per room and fit a compatible driver and dimmer: LED flicker nearly always comes from an old dimmer designed for halogen.

Outdoor and terrace lighting

What we do
Lighting for the terrace, garden, pool and entrances.
How we do it
We install to an IP rating suited to the weather and the salt air on the coast, on a protected circuit with timer or dusk-sensor control.

Basic home automation

What we do
Blinds, thermostat, irrigation or lighting controlled from your phone.
How we do it
We add controls onto the existing installation, favouring solutions that still work manually if the network drops or the manufacturer shuts its service down.

Full renewal and certification

Full re-wire

What we do
Renewal of all the cable, boxes and fittings in the property.
How we do it
We run new cable in conduit with a dedicated circuit per room, leaving a draw wire so future additions do not mean chasing walls again. We test circuit by circuit before closing up.

Electrical certificate (boletín/CIE)

What we do
The certificate the supply company requires to connect the power or increase it.
How we do it
As registered installers we check the installation against the REBT, correct whatever is missing and issue the certificate with the paperwork ready to arrange the contract.

Connecting a property with no supply

What we do
Bringing back a property that has had no power for years or was never connected.
How we do it
We check the service cable, cut-out and meter, bring the internal installation up to spec and issue the certificate. We are clear about what is down to us and what depends on the distribution company.

Electrics within a renovation

What we do
The electrical installation for a full renovation or a newly created room.
How we do it
We set out every point with you before chasing, and coordinate with the plumber so walls are opened and made good once — meaning tiling and painting happen in a single pass.

EV charging point

What we do
A wallbox in a private garage or a community parking space.
How we do it
We run a dedicated line from the board with its own protection and load management, so it does not trip when it coincides with other demand. For communities we prepare the notice that has to be filed first.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an electrician cost in Alicante?

It depends on the fault or installation, the materials and whether chasing is needed or there are accessible false ceilings. That is why we fix the price after the visit, with no surprises. Simple faults are usually solved on the same visit. Ask for a no-obligation quote and we detail it before starting.

Do you issue the certificate to connect the power?

Yes. We are registered installers and issue the electrical certificate (boletín/CIE) the supply company requires to connect the meter or increase power. We check the installation meets the REBT, correct what is needed and hand you the documentation ready to arrange the contract.

Why does the RCD keep tripping?

It is usually a leakage fault (damp, a faulty appliance or a degraded cable run). We isolate circuits one by one to find the source rather than replacing blindly. Once located, we repair the point and leave the board stable and tested before we go.

Do I have to replace an old board?

If the board has no RCDs or earthing it does not meet current regulations and is a risk. It is not always urgent, but during any renovation or when connecting the supply it is wise to renew it. After the visit we tell you honestly whether your board needs replacing or just an adjustment.

When does the whole installation need re-wiring?

When the cable is the original 1970s or 80s wiring: too small for today’s appliances, with no earth and everything hanging off two or three circuits. At that point adding sockets onto the old wiring only makes matters worse. After the visit we tell you whether the board alone is enough or the property needs a full re-wire.

Is the electrical work guaranteed?

Yes. All the electrical work we repair or install carries a 2-year guarantee on labour, plus the manufacturer guarantee on the materials. You receive it in writing along with the certificate where applicable.
